Lisa holds a Master’s in clinical psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Lisa has completed the Gottman Method Couples Certification through Level 2. She has completed the Gottman Addiction and Recovery certification. Lisa gained invaluable experience working at a prominent addiction treatment and recovery center in Costa Mesa. Lisa completed Dr. Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry professional training. She is also certified in Somatic Breathwork. Lisa is in progress with a two-year Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher program.
Lisa draws on many different therapeutic approaches to facilitate growth with her clients. The underpinning of her therapeutic approaches are grounded in narrative therapy, mindfulness-based practices, trauma informed and humanistic models. Lisa comes to the therapeutic relationship through the lens of collaboration. Her heart and mind are open and she lives by the core tenets of mindfulness. She aims to help clients strengthen their sense of self, have productive relationships with others and heal past traumas that hold them back from their fullest expression of themselves. The journey from the head to heart can be a profound one. Lisa understands that learning to feel and connect with emotions can be overwhelming at times, and she seeslife as a constant exploration where the destination is unknown, traversing through realms of love, pain, redemption, and healing.
